BENDSINISTER is a new theatre project based in Chicago, Illinois. We focus on examining traditional and ever-changing definitions of "hero" and "monster". From the beginnings of written history we find very specific criteria for each of these terms in every language...and we find markedly less consensus as to who qualifies for which label. We hope to find heroes in unlikely places, and to expose monsters who might otherwise go unrecognized.
In coming weeks, we will concentrate on our very first production, the Midwest premiere of Bonegrinders by Melody Von Smith. Bonegrinders saw its world premiere in at Road Less Traveled Productions in Buffalo, New York in 2008, where it was nominated for the 2008 Emanuel Fried Award for Outstanding New Play. According to the Buffalo press:

BENDSINISTER will perform Bonegrinders at the Right Brain Project Rorscach, 4001 N. Ravenswood Ave, Chicago, from May 27, 2011 to June 18, 2011. It is directed by Juan Castañeda, on loan from UrbanTheater Company, and features the following talented cast and crew:
